Inhabit
Inhabit is a show about the power of design. With insights from an array of health and design experts, Inhabit addresses large, complex issues at the intersection of design, policy, and research. The podcast aims to empower everyday people to ask critical questions and make informed decisions about the places in which they live, learn, work, play, and heal. The first collection, titled Design Is a Public Health Intervention, is hosted by Dr. Erika Eitland, a public health scientist, and Monica Kumar, an interior designer. Together, they draw on their respective expertise in public health and material health to unpack how buildings influence well-being, for better or worse.
The visual identity evokes the same sense of action and urgency that the hosts convey throughout the show. Typewritten documents on crumpled paper with energetic annotations are the foundation of the visual identity. Space Mono is the primary heading font, while Perkins&Will’s custom brand typeface, PW Centra, is secondary. Black, white, and neon highlighter hues are the primary font colors, curated from Perkins&Will’s existing palette.

The visual identity established for Series 01 was carried through the show’s second season, Summer Jam, introducing kraft paper as a playful twist on the cover art.
Audio excerpts from the show are brought to life in videos created for Instagram, using simple text animations to place the emphasis on the ideas being shared.
